Transportation is the largest and fastest-growing source of CO2 in the United States among all energy sectors. More than two thirds of all oil used in the U.S. goes to transportation, and in western states transportation accounts for more than 85% of oil use.

Over 100 people attended this June 22, 2007 workshop to learn about and discuss What a climate friendly, energy independent transportation system would like look like and how we can make sure state transportation policy and financing discussions are connected to state goals for creating a New Energy Economy.

This workshop explored how to move Colorado toward a more energy efficient transportation system, financing solutions, and best practices from around the country and world.
